IN-HOUSE EDITOR, EQUIPMENT & MEDIA MANAGER

We are looking for a creative and organized individual to fill a position that combines video editing with equipment & media management. The ideal candidate will  have a keen eye for detail, will be able to edit quickly to meet deadlines, and will be extremely organized. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to the success of our video production team. A passion for the latest trends in editing techniques & equipment is key.

Responsibilities in order of priority:

Video Editing:

  • Edit raw footage into polished videos that meet project specifications and deadlines

  • Apply sound design and other post-production techniques to enhance video quality.

  • Work closely with team members to incorporate feedback and deliver final products that exceed expectations.

Media Management:

  • Manage and organize all digital assets, ensuring all media is properly archived and easily accessible using Qnap, Dropbox, Zoho & Asana.

  • Create an archive for raw footage from client events

Equipment Management:

  • Maintain and organize all video production equipment, ensuring everything is in good working condition.

  • Manage the inventory of equipment, including cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, and audio gear.

  • Coordinate equipment rentals or purchases as needed, adhering to budget constraints.

  • Ensure all equipment is properly assigned, checked in and out using Asset Tiger to video crew 

  • Recommend equipment purchases to increase efficiencies and create modern techniques. 

  • Keep all editing computers up to date with latest Adobe Suite products

  • Conduct regular equipment checks and perform necessary maintenance or repairs.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least five years experience with professional video production company

  • Proven experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio of work.

  • Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Works with a sense of urgency

  • Solid understanding of basic camera operation, lighting, and audio equipment in order to assist with in house studio production as needed.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time 

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation. (Ideally After Effects)

  • Knowledge of color grading and sound design.

  • Knowledge of Asana, Zoho or similar project management software

  • Understanding of video compression and file formats

  • Experience in broadcast television or local news

Hours and Compensation:

  • In-house Full-time position, Monday-Friday with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Salary range $55-65k
